Picture this:"Monday June 1st 2009-06-08 Motorbike Road trip from Bedale to Lincoln….avoiding Motorway’s, using nothing but a Suzuki Marauder 125, complete with L Plates and a Novice Rider and a BMW R1200S with pillion option (just in case!!) ridden by a very patient Man (My Knight in battered leather)!!!" Yep my friends I did it....my very first all in one long haul Bike trip!! Of course I have done long rides before but not in one day. I have ridden 185 miles spread over a 3 day weekend but this was 121 miles in one

day!! Am real proud of myself. All A and B roads with lots of bends and rather rural. We went via York/Goole/Gainsborough, which is a bit longer then the AA Route Planner does but it was great. We did a lot of stops on account of me never having traveled so far in one go. Our Lunch stop was at Swinefleet, just outside Goole, at a Pub called 'The Ships Inn', I can highly recommend that. When we arrived they were not even open yet, so we went into the Beer garden, the Landlord came out and had a chat with us and even let us buy some drinks and when the opening time came the Landlady cooked us some burgers, even though they don't do food on a Monday!! Great people. I have not got any Pictures

of myself, as D took those and they are still on his phone but as soon as he gets back from Germany I will add them to Flicker. Meanwhile the pictures you can see are of our Bikes at the Pub and him at the grandstand just outside Lincoln. I like to always have my last stop there before entering the City...It's just one of those things. The weather was amazing and I had a fabulous time. I spend the whole week with D and he showed me some more places in Lincoln I had not seen...it sure is a nice place. I even got to go to Skegness!!! I am now an authority in Skeggy Joke

making.....lol. D said it was like Blackpool without the Tower....he wasn't joking!!! I just always wanted to see it and now I have...not that I missed much but at least I can say I been. But I will say it quietly...lol. We did loads of ride outs..some where I was Pillion some where I rode my bike we had a blast. Sadly it was to short as these things always are. I still am on Holiday, as is D but he has gone to visit friends in Germany and to do some Track time at 'The Ring'. And what am I doing? well I'm taking it easy of course!!! I only have a few more days before I have to go back to the boring humdrum of work so this week I am going to indulge myself and knit to my hearts content. I am currently working on an Afghan, which will be one of D's Christmas Presents, he likes useful gifts!!
It's 'The tree of Life' Afghan from
Mary Maxim . I have already done and messed up the first row of trees!!! One of the Trees is smaller then all the others...lol!!! I have however come up with a solution to the mess.....I shall embroider the Date (Christmas) on it!!! I am now

stuck though. Im not sure I want to make the Flower garden. After reading the Instructions.....blimey it sounds complicated. So now I am pondering as to how to procede.....maybe cables? I just don't know..in all honesty I have no idea as to how to go about adding something like that. A good rumage around Ravelry may give me the answer...I spend way to much time on there anyway...may as well put it to good use. Well....watch this space...
Till next Time xxx
