That is what I have suffered with this whole week...not just me but MrC as well. Maybe a little write-up/recap would be nice!!???
The Saturday we left was a pretty good one to get us in the Holiday mood....MrC's Parents have given him some photos and Postcards of his Great Great grandfather, who lived in Lincoln and was a Butcher/ Butchers Apprentice so we traced some of the old Butchers shops! Bearing in mind that these cards are 100 years old we did pretty well. We found all but one shop!! On one Postcard we were able to read the address so we checked that out, and it turned out to be only just about 200/300 yards or so up from where MrC lives now!!! That is where his grandfather used to live and receive these Postcards. The Cards were from a Friend in Nottingham...so we shall do a little

investigation there at some point as well! What a great Holiday start. But my excitement was much greater...I was going to finally go over the
Humber Bridge!!!It is an awesome sight and I love love loved it. Then onto the Ferry to Rotterdam and a nice relaxed civilised crossing. Sunday saw us getting into Holland and driving down to
Osnabrueck, where we stayed with Friends of his and where I got the Sock Yarn from my picture posts. What I also got was the chance to go into a fantastic Ice cream Parlour!!! They just don't have them over here...well not like that anyway. The photo shows my Spaghetti ice, which just happens to be my favourite. As a matter of Fact I turned the whole Holiday into a Food Fest!!! All the lovely German Foods I grew up with....I swear I put on a few pounds...actually I know I have!!
On the Tuesday we left the friends and went onto
'The Nuerburgring'. I now understand a lot more why 'himself' loves it so...he is as addicted to the Ring as I am to yarn!!! She is his Mistress...there is no doubt in my mind at all. We stayed in a Guesthouse called '
Sliders'.... all I will say is that if your into Bikes and all you want/need is a clean bed and Shower this

is the place to stay!! It is a good fortune for MrC that I have pretty low standards!!! But the people are ace...I cannot fault that. We did quiet a few Ride outs...to the Point that my backside got so sore that I longed for a soft comfy seat in a car....lol. When MrC took me to
Cochem he made me cry!!! He told me before we left he would take me but somehow my brain did not register anything other then excitement. But when he finally rounded the corner at the top to descend into the valley and I got to see it...well Tears just shot into my Eyes!!! You see, it is well over 10 Years since I been to Cochem and I never thought I see it again. It is not my Hometown or anything...it simply is a beautiful warm and lovely place....a place I feel at Home in. We both had such a great time and himself even got a few Laps of his beloved ring in. I managed to only do a little Knitting. I managed to get one Soc

k finished with Fibrespades Yarn he bought me in Scotland. And I got a few more inches added to the
BoneYard Shawl I took as my Travelling Project. I did not get to buy anymore Yarn...just no time to find Yarn shops. But.... I did get something else I been wanting for a very long time!!! I got some '
Birkenstock's!!!(Modeled with the single Sock) My Feet adore them, as do I. I have a Summer pair and now I have a Winter pair...I love them. And I have no doubt I shall get some more.
All in all I can only say what a fabulous time we had and I shall go again at some point.....I won't go as many time as himself does but I have no doubt I shall manage to make the trip at least once or twice a year. Due to the Fact that I am no good in Crowds we have already decided that I shall go either at the beginning or at the end of the season...so that will give me something to look forward to for the next year......
Till Next time xx
