Lots of Pictures

Having no new Knitting to show of just yet, so after looking at a few other Blogs I thought I post a few Pictures of the Flowers which are surrounding the flats I live in. The Garden is lovingly tended by the elderly lady downstairs and for the rest we have a Groundsman. (No wonder the Rent is so high!!!) Enjoy...Till Next time xxx

And my Love Affair goes on...

The affair with Felting I'm talking about!! I have tried my Hands (pun??) Mittens. Now like any love affair there are little disagreements and the gloves and me had one of those...It was my fault...I wasn't paying attention when I was sewing them up. But I fixed it....I turned them into Fingerless Gloves...all i need now is a little embroidery and an ice cold Winter and I may even get to wear them. The first picture: They are still Mittens the second: they are Fingerless gloves. See what I mean about disagreement??But we are okay-ish now!
I have another project on the needles for felting now...a Bucket/Basket. You can find the Pattern here. Maybe after that I can concentrate on the Blanket again....my mind just keeps wondering...and Ravelry is sooo dangerous for sidetracking you. I have got 189 projects in my Que and it's growing daily....38 favourites and I have done all of 54 projects and some of them are not even from Rav.
Well, my holiday is over now and I'm back to work:(, so I won't be able to knit as much as I like. D is back from Germany this week as well and I think he is coming up tomorrow....I'm so excited.

When you got an Itch.....

...scratch it, is what I say! And I been having this Itch since wayyy before my last Post...so I needed to scratch it...and badly!!! I'm still not cured...but soon, I can feel it. Not making any sens to anyone???? See if you can guess...
I'm talking felting...felted Slippers to be precise....so far I made two pair. Just need to add the Leather sole and cold feet are no more!!!

Trouble is....I'm now hooked again...as I knew I would be. As I type there is one set of Mittens going round and round in the Machine for the 3rd time. And I am looking for other things to make...I'm simply Itching all over the Place to knit and then chuffing well felt the living daylights out of it.
I have been reading my Friends Laurie and Terry's Blogs and they have given me and Idea of something I'm just going to have to try and make....we just have to wait and see......I need to do a bit of stash diving first...yarn as well as Fabric....that's all I'm saying and I am not giving a time Line either!!!! Executive desission reached...

After my post yesterday I began my search for the answer to my problem regarding the Afghan. The members of the Board (Me) have voted unanimously to do various panels!! Now, (myself) isn't to happy about it in one way, because (I)never have done anything like this but it will be a learning curve and I hope it will work!! But me thinks we shall be alright, so Me ,Myself and I are in some sort of Harmonie in regards to the Afghan. And it is working okay.....I suppose there are people out there that are wondering why I'm in such a hurry...I mean Christmas is month and month away, right? Well you see I know myself and already my Eye's are beginning to wonder to other things I want to Knit. I spend a lot of time on Ravelry and always something new is there I want to make. So far I have been able to resist but already it's getting harder. As long as this project feels exciting and fresh I be okay....so the different panels with different designs will help.
I want to try Felted Slippers soooooo badly though!!!!!!

And they are of.....

Picture this:"Monday June 1st 2009-06-08 Motorbike Road trip from Bedale to Lincoln….avoiding Motorway’s, using nothing but a Suzuki Marauder 125, complete with L Plates and a Novice Rider and a BMW R1200S with pillion option (just in case!!) ridden by a very patient Man (My Knight in battered leather)!!!" Yep my friends I did it....my very first all in one long haul Bike trip!! Of course I have done long rides before but not in one day. I have ridden 185 miles spread over a 3 day weekend but this was 121 miles in one day!! Am real proud of myself. All A and B roads with lots of bends and rather rural. We went via York/Goole/Gainsborough, which is a bit longer then the AA Route Planner does but it was great. We did a lot of stops on account of me never having traveled so far in one go. Our Lunch stop was at Swinefleet, just outside Goole, at a Pub called 'The Ships Inn', I can highly recommend that. When we arrived they were not even open yet, so we went into the Beer garden, the Landlord came out and had a chat with us and even let us buy some drinks and when the opening time came the Landlady cooked us some burgers, even though they don't do food on a Monday!! Great people. I have not got any Pictures of myself, as D took those and they are still on his phone but as soon as he gets back from Germany I will add them to Flicker. Meanwhile the pictures you can see are of our Bikes at the Pub and him at the grandstand just outside Lincoln. I like to always have my last stop there before entering the City...It's just one of those things. The weather was amazing and I had a fabulous time. I spend the whole week with D and he showed me some more places in Lincoln I had not seen...it sure is a nice place. I even got to go to Skegness!!! I am now an authority in Skeggy Joke making.....lol. D said it was like Blackpool without the Tower....he wasn't joking!!! I just always wanted to see it and now I have...not that I missed much but at least I can say I been. But I will say it quietly...lol. We did loads of ride outs..some where I was Pillion some where I rode my bike we had a blast. Sadly it was to short as these things always are. I still am on Holiday, as is D but he has gone to visit friends in Germany and to do some Track time at 'The Ring'. And what am I doing? well I'm taking it easy of course!!! I only have a few more days before I have to go back to the boring humdrum of work so this week I am going to indulge myself and knit to my hearts content. I am currently working on an Afghan, which will be one of D's Christmas Presents, he likes useful gifts!!
It's 'The tree of Life' Afghan from Mary Maxim . I have already done and messed up the first row of trees!!! One of the Trees is smaller then all the others...lol!!! I have however come up with a solution to the mess.....I shall embroider the Date (Christmas) on it!!! I am now stuck though. Im not sure I want to make the Flower garden. After reading the Instructions.....blimey it sounds complicated. So now I am pondering as to how to procede.....maybe cables? I just don't know..in all honesty I have no idea as to how to go about adding something like that. A good rumage around Ravelry may give me the answer...I spend way to much time on there anyway...may as well put it to good use. Well....watch this space...

Not been idle...

I just could not be bothered with the blogging up to now. But I really have not been Idle at all.... I been knitting/spinning/dating/Motorbiking....the latter only if weather was ok, which was a kind of hit and miss affair most of the time!!! Yes I am still dating the same 'Little Bloke' I wrote about in my last post...wanna see a picture? I call him little Bloke as he is 5.2 to my 5.4! I could call him old Bloke as he is 8 years my senior but who cares...here is a photo of him doing what he loves to do best.....this is him on the Nuerburgring in Germany, on his R1 (he has several bikes but keeps this out at the ring). The photo was taken by a sports photographer who takes pictures of the tourist riders on the ring..I left the watermark , so hopefully I am not infringing any copyrights. And yes it is really him and not some racer guy or anything.
I have also been knitting...Christmas Presents!!! This year everybody will ONLY get handmade items....times are hard and Money is virtually non-existent...like it or lump it! So far I have made a Hat for my friend Dave and I will add some nice warm socks for him to wear on his Bike as well. Last year he got a scarf and according to him it was the warmest he ever had and hasn't stopped wearing it all winter.....it is nice to have your crafts appreciated...specially by a guy.I also been knitting 2 x Scarves for the 'Little Blokes' Daughters. One in green Rowan Polar and one in grey Rowan holiday. Even thought I say so myself...I love how they turned out...they are real squishy and cosy. And of course go a way towards my Stash Busting...I have not bought any yarn for what seems like ages!!!!

In between all of that I have been spinning. I spun up some Silk and some Wensleydale singles in lovely shades of various greens which hopefully I will turn into a nice Shawl for myself and some nice thick Merino with Silvery thread to make a cosy Hat for myself.

And of course I been biking!! It's coming together...not good enough for the test yet but I am ever hopefully that by the end of the summer I can at least make an attempted at it. Up until this month my riding has been quiet learner/beginner-ish,which really frustrated me but over the last few weeks it has really been coming together. Apparently Rome wasn't build in a day...so I keep being told!!! We have some plans for good ride outs and some slow riding manoeuvres...like the figure 8 and those blasted Feet-up U Turns, which I still have only managed to do once....I get there I'm sure and if not this year...well there is next year isn't there????

How long?????

Hell, how long has it been since posted anything???!!! Talk about neglect.....even thought I said I was going to post more often...am I the worst Blog mother or are there worse then me???
Lets play catch up..shall we?Not overly much has happened.....except one simple ordinary significant thing, that seems to have turned my world upside down and sideways and back to front. I am dating!!! I am dating a fantastic guy and it is great and weird at the same time. Great because we get on, we have a good time we talk and enjoy each others company...weird...well because he is sooooo totally the opposite of any man I would have ever seen myself with. He looks nothing like a man I would ever have thought I date, he doesn't sound like man I thought I ever date he isn't even in the age range of any man I thought I would ever date! And yet I am smitten.....I must be because I hurtle myself down the A1 just to spend time with him, even thought he is actually working! We live about 100 miles apart and yet I'm here at his place this weekend but he has to work part of it...and still I am here. I'm finding all of this very odd and I keep asking myself lots of questions.......without ever finding an answer. At times these questions get in the way of me fully enjoying this new relationship. The distance is no problem for either of us, at this time it suits both of us....and yet...
There is the way we met.....the Internet! There is the Intellectual differences...that man knows wayyyyyyyy to much stuff!!! The lifestyle we both have led and are leading. All this and much more often gets in the way of me enjoying the ride so to speak. He does not seem to see or care about these things, me on the other hand!!??? On the face of it we basically only have one thing in common...our love for Motorbikes and all things Biking. That is a good start I suppose but where will it lead? What if the Bikes are all there is?If I did not want to learn to ride anymore and just be Pillion or give up altogether, would that change how he feels about me? If he had no Bikes and wanted to give up all things Bike would I still like him? Do I only want to be with him because I am fed up with being on my own? When I am with him...non of this has any significance....it feels right, it feels good, it makes us both happy. It is when we're apart that these and many more questions pop into my head. Oh dear me where is this all going???? It is way to early to start suffering form the 'Rabbit in headlight' syndrome.
My apologies for having bored anyone to tears....but this is MY Blog and I write what I want!!
Till next Time xx
